With a history of over 2200 years, Hangzhou is a city with a great historical and cultural heritage, a city for sightseeing and tourism. It was one of the seven ancient capital cities of China. In the 13th century, Italian traveler Marco Polo was full of praise, saying, “Hangzhou is the most beautiful and splendid place in the world.” Hangzhou is also famous in Chinese folklore as a “paradise on earth” , because of such marvelous scenery as West Lake and Qiantang River. No visit to China is complete without a visit to Hangzhou.
